		<description><![CDATA[There are (at least) two projects trying to &#039;save&#039; Geocities - reocities.com and geociti.es - it&#039;ll be interesting to see if either of these get any traction, but I don&#039;t believe they&#039;ll ever get the number of incoming links Geocities had, let alone the age of those links.

I&#039;m not sure why Yahoo didn&#039;t do a deal with the Internet Archive Project to take it off their hands and keep the content up. While the web industry has a very negative view of Geocities, there was a lot of good info buried away in there by people who were using it for it&#039;s original purpose - an &#039;easy&#039; way to get web pages up.]]></description>
