Search crazy in the UK

October 11, 2006

Figures released by Nielsen/NetRatings show that the UK is still crazy about search and search engines.

It’s estimated that 264 queries were carried out every second by UK web users during August. That staggering figure works out at 22.7 million search engine queries per day! That’s an overall increase of 4% in the last 6 months.

Unsurprisingly, the majority of these queries are carried out in Google (68%), then comes Yahoo! (9.1%), Ask.com (7.8%), MSN/Windows Live (5.8%) and AOL (4.1%).

Just goes to show how important your pay-per-click and search engine optimisation (SEO) efforts are!
