Irrepressible, your right to free speech

October 27, 2006

Amnesty International are asking bloggers to get behind their campaign for free speech on the internet. A subject close to my heart so here’s the link to the site for all you other bloggers to go visit and blog about.

Freedom to write what you want, search anything you like and view whatever websites you choose is fundamental to the internet and it’s key that these rights are supported if the web is to continue as we know and love. There are so many stories of blogs being deleted, search engines blocking sites and ISP’s taking sites down that it’s about time people started to make some noise.

If we don’t stand up for people’s rights to free speech, thought and expression we risk the web turning into another walled garden with a nanny supervising authority telling us what we can write and view!
